GLEANINGS FROM THE WORD Encountering an extraordinary God in ordinary life Issue #304 October 27, 2001 White
As I walked the dog around the lake earlier this week, trudging along, I muttered to myself about the fresh layer of snow that covered everything. The sun peeked through the clouds and the snow reflected the light back with incredible brilliance. Things didnt look so dull and grey anymore and I stopped muttering. As I continued walking, I began to notice how fresh and white everything was. It really was quite beautiful after all. Everything around me was covered in a beautiful thick white blanket and looked brand new. Any debris was gone. Thats how it is when we accept Jesus. Our old, grey selves are cloaked in fresh, clean, white robes of His righteousness. Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Revelation 3:4-6 NIV When God looks down at someone who has accepted Him, He sees the white robes of Jesus and His righteousness. Never accept the condemnation of Satan, you are bought at a price, forgiven and made righteous. Until next time, may you come to truly understand who you are in the eyes of God. May it be written in your ears so you hear it, on your mind so you understand it and remember it and on your heart so that you know it with every fibre of your being. God bless. Kevin If you have never accepted Jesus and long for that fresh start and clean slate, email me. Ill share a few Bible verses that explain why a relationship with Jesus is so important, and a prayer that will make it possible. Dont delay. Be made new today. God bless.
