GLEANINGS FROM THE WORD Experiencing an extraordinary God in ordinary life Issue #332 November 24, 2001 Simple Joy My son and a friend are up for the weekend for a visit. They are attending Bible College a few hours drive away. My son is in the missions stream and his friend in the pastoral stream. Due to poor highway conditions, they were late getting here, so I was a little anxious. When they finally arrived I was greatly relieved and rejoiced at their presence. It made me stop and think about how wonderful the reunions in heaven will be. We will be seeing Jesus face to face for the first time. That excites me and terrifies me at the same time. We will also get to meet and thank people who have influenced our walk with Jesus and never knew it. It will also be a time of wondrous surprise because we will meet people we never knew were believers. People we prayed for and never knew they had accepted Jesus. Our joy will be infinitely greater than any joy we have experienced here on earth. To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy--to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. Jude 1:24-25 NIV Until next time, may your life be full of joy, and your afterlife even more so. Have a blessed day. Kevin Do you have a relationship with Jesus? It is the way to guarantee an eternal life of joy. If not email me and Ill share a few Bible verses that explain why that relationship is so important and a prayer that will make it possible.
