Too Tall
It was taller than I imagined, it rose to go a mile or more straight up into the clouds. I knew I had to climb, but didn’t know how and I was terrified.
In retrospect, it wasn’t as tall as it seemed to my little boy mind. The top of that slide seemed so far away that I could never have done it on my own. My father took my hand and helped me climb; it was almost as tall as dad. Then while I waited at the top, he went around to the bottom to catch me as I slid down.
After a few trips with help, I even braved it on my own. I simply needed the confidence of knowing He was there.
Life can be full of challenges and opportunities that seem insurmountable. Fortunately, we serve a God who is there with us.
For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13 NIV
When the task seems too big and the slide too tall, take His hand and trust. All will work out.
