GLEANINGS FROM THE WORD Experiencing an extraordinary God in ordinary life Issue #373 January 4, 2002 Panic Tonight we start a new Bible study in our home. Its time for the usual, "Oh no were going to start" panic. Are we ready to lead? Is the house clean? Arrgh, I still have banisters to install on the stairway. What if no one comes? What if too many people come and we dont have enough materials? Have we chosen the right materials? Will the new group mix together and get along? Its time for a little prayer to get focused and calm down. Often in life we encounter deadlines and get ready in a panic, despite our best efforts to be prepared ahead of time. I wonder it will be like when Jesus comes back like He has promised to. Will we be prepared or will we suddenly find ourselves needing to do things like make relationships right or do the things we know God has called us to do and we procrastinated on? "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come." Mark 13:32-33 NIV Are you ready? Until next time, may your house always be in order for His return. God bless. Kevin Are you prepared? Have you accepted Christ as Lord of your life so that you have been reconciled to God and your sins forgiven? If not, or if youre not certain, email me. Ill share a few Bible verses that explain why this relationship is so important and a prayer that will make it possible.
