GLEANINGS FROM THE WORD Experiencing an extraordinary God in ordinary life Issue #406 February 6, 2002 Miracles I read the Bible and read of all kinds of miracles being performed. The Red Sea parts; the bush burns but isnt consumed; a child is born of a virgin; a dead man is resurrected and more. I often hear people say that if only they could see miracles like that they would believe the message of the Bible too. In some ways, I used to feel like that too, always looking for the big miracle. Then I started to look around and see the miracles of every day life. A sunflower, supposedly an inanimate plant, turns its head to follow the sun. The complexity of the system that allows us to see. The power of waves pounding on the shore. The stars at night. Miracles in the form of answered prayer. A cheque that arrives unexpectedly in just the amount needed. A reader who writes that prayer is needed because of a lost job then writes a few days later to say that the job loss was due to a clerical error and employment will be reinstated. The unconditional love of a puppy. Rain. Sunshine. Snow. Love. Children. Birth. Life. There is nowhere we can look without seeing the miraculous presence of God if we simply take the time to open our eyes and remove the blinders. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20 NIV Have you stopped lately and just looked at the miracles that unfold around you every single day? Have you seen Gods hand at work today? Until next time, may you look at the world through eyes that expect to see Him at every turn. Hallelu Yah Kevin Have you been looking for the hope that only God can give? Were you looking for a miracle to show you that He is there? The very fact of your existence is a miracle and defies all the odds. Email me and Ill share a few Bible verses that will explain why a relationship with Him is so important and a prayer that will make it possible.
