GLEANINGS FROM THE WORD Experiencing an extraordinary God in ordinary life Issue #404 February 4, 2002 ICE SCULPTURES The air was just below freezing, but the sun beating down on the arena roof caused the snow to melt. As the snow melted, the water dripped off the edge of the roof and onto the ground and bushes underneath. The rose bushes were being transformed into ice sculptures. Drop by drop, icicles were forming on the bushes. Long, transparent icicles formed on the rose hips and shone with a pink tinted light in the sunshine. Sharp thorns were transformed into icicles in a myriad of shapes. No two were the same. None stayed the same for long as each drop of water subtly transformed the shape of every bush. God was sculpting transparent, icy jewels drop by drop. Even the finest of gemstones couldnt rival the beauty of these individually crafted masterpieces. God is in the business of beauty and transformation. He created a wonderful, beautiful universe for us to live in. Ever since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, He has been transforming us back into the people He designed us to be. To become people of compassion, joy and freedom who are free to walk in the very presence of a holy God. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 NIV Transformation takes time, but He is at work in each of our lives. Until next time, may you rejoice in the transformation He has begun in your life. Hallelu Yah Kevin No matter who you are or what you have done; God can transform your life. He can free you from the mistakes of your past and give you unconditional love and acceptance.
