GLEANINGS FROM THE WORD Experiencing an extraordinary God in ordinary life Issue# 342 December 4, 2001 Praise
Did you ever wonder here God is, or where He lives? Did you ever wonder how you could get close to that spot? Scripture tells us that: But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Psalm 22:3 KJV God is many places but He inhabits our praise. The Hebrew word for inhabitest (or inhabits in newer translations) is Yawshab, is a verb that literally means "to sit down, to dwell or to remain". In the case of a king, it means, "to be enthroned." Gods throne and presence can be found in the praises of His people. If you want to feel closer to Him, try praising Him. Praise, like love is more than a feeling. It is a deliberate act, something intentional we do whether we feel like it or not. Having a lousy day? Praise God. If you feel you cant praise Him for the situation you are in, praise Him that He knows you exist or praise Him for simply being God. Having a blessed day? Praise God. Having a ho-hum day? Praise God. Sing songs of praise. Praise Him in your prayer. Tell others about how wonderful He is. The highest form of praise is obedience. Walk with Him in the difficult times. He is there walking with you, whether you acknowledge it or not. In good times or bad, draw close to Him by your praise. Until next time, regardless of your circumstances, may you make the decision to praise Him whether you feel like it or not. God bless. Kevin Do you know the God who walks with you in all things, the God who loves you unconditionally and forgives those who ask?
