GLEANINGS FROM THE WORD Experiencing an extraordinary God in ordinary life Issue# 340 December 2, 2001 Just One
I liked playing with dominos as a child. Not so much they game of dominos but standing them up end on end, then pushing them over and watching the chain reaction as they fell. Ive seen some world record attempts on television where they used literally tens of thousands of dominos in very intricate patterns. The chain goes around the room, over and under things and can be quite amazing. The chain reaction starts with movement at one end. Its like that with the Gospel. What if every Christian lead one or two people to Christ in their lives? How long would it take to transform the world? Actually thats a trick question. Once you have been used by Holy Spirit to lead a person to Christ, it changes you. You want to do it again and again. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Romans 10:14-15 NIV Will you commit to one? Will you be obedient to the Great Commission and start leading one person in the direction of Jesus? I know the thought is terrifying for some of you, but the results can be incredible. Until next time, may you be aware of Holy Spirits prompting to share His good news. God bless. Kevin If youve never experienced the joy of knowing Jesus and wonder what on earth Im talking about email me. Ill share a few Bible verses that explain why a relationship with Him is so important and a prayer that will make it possible. Do it today and be transformed forever.
